Program Description:

The Master of Health Science degree is distinguished by its interdisciplinary approach to graduate study. The program of study is based on a core curriculum in health sciences with specialization in administration or education which permits practicing professionals to assume advanced roles. The program design will offer two tracks for professional advancement: administration and education. Students will be prepared for emerging leadership roles in the health care industry or for teaching roles in staff development or post-secondary education.

Areas of Concentration

Healthcare Administration: The administration track prepares healthcare professionals to function in management positions in a variety of healthcare settings. Students focus on financial and economic aspects of health care, human and resource management, and organizational leadership. Selected clinical, administrative and research experiences provide students with the opportunity to work in an administrative role.

Healthcare Education: The health professions education track prepares healthcare professionals to function as beginning educators in areas such as staff development, health education, or preparation of pre-professional students. Selected teaching and research experiences in clinical and classroom settings provide the student with the opportunity to function in the educator role.

Degree Requirements
* 34 hours of graduate credits
* Minimum of 24 hours of graduate credits earned in residence at Bellarmine University.
* Maintain a 3.0 GPA out of 4.0 overall grade point average throughout the program.
* Degree requirements must be completed within six (6) years from time of entry.
