Program Description:
The graduate program is a subspecialty of the interdisciplinary Cell and Molecular Biology program. The goal of this training program is to provide pre doctoral and postdoctoral training in the field of aging at the molecular and cellular levels. A training grant award from the National Institute on Aging provides resources for students and program support. Participating faculty members hold appointments in several of the basic science departments, including the Departments of Molecular and Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular and Human Genetics Pathology, Neurology, Cardiovascular Sciences, Molecular Virology, and Immunology. The faculty are actively engaged in various aspects of modern cell and molecular biology research, are well supported by federal grants, and are experienced in graduate education training in their respective departments.
