Program Description:
Barry University's Master of Science in Reading program prepares classroom and special reading teachers at the elementary and secondary levels and leads to Florida certification in Reading K-12. The specialist degree prepares literacy educators and leaders at the K-12, community college, and adult levels. The PhD prepares you to conduct research relating to literacy instruction, literacy assessment, and lifelong literacy acquisition. You learn to design, implement, and evaluate literacy programs, programs for training literacy educators, and policy. Focusing on academics, faith, and community, the Adrian Dominican School of Education at Barry University will enrich and transform you. With master’s and doctoral programs, you can reach your goal as a professional counselor or an educator/specialist in the K-12 school system. You can move your career to the next level in higher education or implement change in the business community through Barry's organizational learning and leadership program. The School of Education provides a tuition discount for educators. A highly qualified full-time faculty along with a practitioner-based adjunct faculty instructs and mentors students. Evening and Saturday classes are offered.
