Program Description:
Bank Street's Leadership master's programs are designed for both current leaders and those aspiring to such roles. Each program identifies and examines leadership skills, the relationship between leadership behavior and the quality of life in schools and educational institutions, and the kinds of knowledge and attitudes that are necessary to respond to the changing and challenging needs of a pluralistic society. Programs also address current realities and emerging trends in the areas of administration, policy, research, and supervision. Depending on which leadership program is completed, graduates of are eligible for New York State certification as a School Building Leader (N-12) or School District Leader. Several programs are offered in a summer-intensive format. Programs include: Leadership for Educational Change (option for Special Education focus), Early Childhood Leadership, Leadership in Technology and the Arts: Visual Arts (with Parsons School of Design), Leadership in Technology and the Arts: Creative Writing (with Sarah Lawrence College), Leadership in Community-Based Learning, and Leadership in Museum Education.
