Master of Arts in Education - School Librarianship

Program Description:

Offered in conjunction with the Library Media Teacher Credential, this program enables the candidate to earn both the Master of Arts in Education: School Librarianship and the credential by completing three courses beyond the requirements for the credential alone. The master's degree enhances the credential with educational course work that dovetails library services and resources with student, teacher, and classroom needs. By understanding the curriculum foundations, history, and psychological, philosophical, and ethical issues relevant to today's student bodies, the library media teacher can better facilitate the education process and advance the goals of the California school system.
