Program Description:

The basic goal of the program is to educate people for public service leadership in a changing environment. Leadership is notconfined to high positions. Rather, it means the ability to exercise responsible influence in a public setting. This requiresanalytical and managerial skills, on the one hand, and an appreciation of the basic values and processes of Americandemocracy on the other. Because many aspects of the administrative environment are changing, narrowly definedcompetencies can become quickly dated. For this reason, the Auburn MPA offers a broad, general education within the fieldof public administration.
