Program Description:
Research and creative activities in the Department of Dance include the following: the creation and performance of new works; theory and teaching of technique, improvisation and choreography; and concentrated studies in dance education, ideokinesis, kinesiology, dance history, philosophy, ethnology, music for dance, and dance and technology. Cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural work, along with community outreach, are encouraged through course work, internships, and individual projects. Support facilities available within the Department include two experimental theaters, the multimedia learning center, and complete production shops staffed by professional designers/technicians.
