Program Description:
The program of study engages the learner in constructivist learning environments and global learning communities. Emphasis is placed upon cultural diversity and the analysis of new media environments from a global perspective. Particular emphasis is placed upon the analysis of new media in light of educational, cultural and social forces within a digital global network. The program of study is international in scope, drawing upon scholars and students from Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and the United States. The language for the program is English. The New Media and global Education program concentrates on the structure, organization, and development of learning environments as an effect of the new networked digital media. Students in the online program will develop the foundation skills to digital media production, instructional design, evaluation, and course and program development for distribution over the Internet. Graduates of the program have moved into business, college teaching in various content areas, distance education administration, doctorate programs, web development ventures, and K-12 teaching.
