Program Description:
The School of Education, Teaching, and Health's faculty members are committed to advancing educational theory and professional practice. The school recognizes the societal and individual significance of education in contemporary life and embraces its special responsibility to produce educators for the twenty-first century. The Master of Arts in Teaching and graduate certificate are designed for students with no previous background or preparation in education who wish to acquire teaching certification in early childhood education, elementary education, secondary education, or ESOL.
Students who complete the program requirements apply for certification in the District of Columbia and are eligible for reciprocal certification in over 40 states.
