MEd Curriculum & Instruction, Graduate Certificate Curriculum & Instruction
Program Description:
Designed for students with a background in educational theory and practice, the MEd in Curriculum and Instruction offers extended study in areas of elementary and secondary education. The program follows the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) guidelines for advanced programs and offers the opportunity for students to earn National Board for the Professional Teaching Standards Certification. Students choose from two tracks: Literacy or Global Literacy.
The Curriculum and Instruction certificate program is designed for students with an interest in expanding their teaching or supervision skills. Program participants choose either the Literacy or Global Literacy track.

The School of Education, Teaching & Health at American University is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC).
