Degree Offered
PsyD in Clinical Forensic Psychology
Format: Campus
Program Description:
At the California School of Forensic Studies (CSFS), we strive to provide students with high-quality education that combines not only classroom learning but real-world practice. The Clinical Forensic Psychology PsyD program emphasizes the application of clinical and forensic psychological theory and practice in varied settings. These settings may include prison systems, jails, juvenile halls, courts, private practice, hospitals and police departments. The PsyD program is a four-year program that prepares students to work as professional, licensed psychologists in forensic settings rather than emphasizing administration. In addition, research skills are obtained and may comprise a facet of one’s forensic practice. PsyD students will receive training and practical experience working with clients in forensic settings described above. Many graduates of our clinical programs go on to become licensed psychologists, working with law enforcement, or working on forensic-related issues in private practice. Others apply their expertise in academia or toward informing public policy.
