Program Description:

Interior Architecture and Design is everywhere – homes, schools, hotels, resorts, businesses and hospitals. If you have the desire and passion to create comfortable, intriguing, inspiring environments that people will admire, live in and work in, then the Academy of Art University’s School of Interior Architecture & Design is for you.
You'll learn furniture design, ergonomics, the psychology of color and lighting and the role of the computer in architecture. You'll gain the skills of the graphic designer, the hand-to-eye drawing coordination of the illustrator, the imagination of the industrial designer, the eye of the photographer, the knowledge of the computer artist, the style of the fashion designer, and the soul of the fine artist.
• We are the only school invited to participate in the SF Designer Showcase.
• Fourteen students have participated in HGTV Designers Finals and students continue to be on the show.
• Several students have interned at Tucker and Marks, a well-known interior design firm in SF. A couple continued on to become career designers.
• The Academy offers one of the few accredited interior design programs in the nation.

About the Academy of Art University

Established in 1929, the university offers accredited AA, BFA, BA, M.Arch, MA and MFA programs in 14 areas of art and design emphasis. Students can also enroll in a flexible online degree program.
