Program Description:
Abilene Christian University's Master of Education in Special Education is a faith-based, online program that focuses on the design and delivery of teaching and other educational services to children or adults with special learning needs or disabilities. The program can also prepare you to function as a special education teacher. This online graduate degree includes instruction in diagnosing learning disabilities, developing individual education plans, teaching and supervising special education students, special education counseling, and applicable laws and policies. All program courses are designed around the Interstate School Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) Standards, which make children and their learning the foundation for school administration. By incorporating these standards, the program prepares you to obtain licensure in the 36 states that have adopted the standards, including Texas.
