Program Description:

The programme consists of four semesters and deals with Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy (Green Biotechnology), i.e. how to make new high value or medium value products or biofuels form biological materials or by-products. The specialisation focuses on application of high-tech engineering and advanced process monitoring facilities applied to a whole range of "classical" biotechnological areas based on micro-organisms used for controlled metabolism of many industrial process types. Focus is on the newest principles of bioreactor design, industrial scale-up, improved efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
