The title MBA stands for Masters in Business Administration and is a highly sought after post-graduate degree. It is possible to obtain a general MBA, but other MBA programs focus on specific topics of business such as marketing, global management, entrepreneurship, accounting, or ecommerce. MBA programs vary in length depending upon the individual's status as a full-time or part-time student. Many people choose to work during the day and attend classes at night, which can extend the duration of the program. Full-time, students can earn an MBA in two years. European MBAs are generally obtainable in one year. It's possible, but not always necessary, to obtain a CMBA, or Certified MBA, by taking an exam.
Application requirements are specified by the academic institution; in general prospective students are required to submit GMAT scores, a personal statement, and letters of recommendation, transcripts, and TOEFL scores, if applicable.
