About the field of Clinical Psychology: Clinical Psychology is a branch of psychology focused on the assessment and treatment of mental illness, abnormal behavior and psychiatric problems. It involves the study of theoretical frameworks and the scientific bases of clinical psychology. Students will hone their diagnostic, therapeutic and consultative skills. They will study ethical and professional guidelines, psychopathology, the psychology of the lifespan and group processes of therapy. Students will study substance abuse treatment, trauma and crisis intervention, and child and adolescent psychotherapy. Graduates can become guidance counselors, educators, clinical psychologists, social workers, research psychologists and more.
