About the field of Philosophy: Philosophy is focused on the systematic examination of basic concepts such as truth, existence, reality and freedom. The field encompasses the philosophy of science, language, mind, mathematics, literature, politics and ethics. Students will learn about the history of ancient and modern philosophy. They will study culture, historical and social theory, the writings of famous philosophers, and metaphysics. They will also learn about epistemology, morality, aesthetics, skepticism and naturalism. Graduates can become analysts, educators, writers, journalists, consultants and more.
