The LBJ School confers the Master of Public Affairs (M.P.Aff.) degree upon completion of any of ten program options: the regular program; eight joint program options; and the mid-career option. Whatever theroute selected to earn the degree, all students take certain courses in the core sequence, participate in at least one policy research project, and write a master's professional report or thesis. The emphasis throughout the program is on mastery of the problem-solving skills and management principles that underlie successfulperformance in the public sector environment.
