The purpose of a Ph.D. program in Early Childhood Education (ECE) is to develop scholars and leaders in the field of early childhood. Doctorate-prepared individuals will be able to:
*Develop regional, state, and national educational and service programs for children, their parents, and educators;
*Influence policy and services
*Conduct funded and non-funded experiential and applied research;
*Instruct students enrolled in associate, bachelor's, master's, specialists, and doctorate programs; and
*provide quality administrative leadership in Early Childhood Education.
The EC Ph.D. program is guided by the Conceptual Framework of the Clemmer College of Education and the principles of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
