Ed.S. - Education Specialist Degree in School Psychology
Students in PCOM’s Educational Specialist (EdS) program in School Psychology seek to bring the best of the discipline and practice of school psychology to understanding and enhancing the development of all children—working at the forefront of care in order to make our communities healthier.
Housed within an osteopathic medical school, the program offers a holistic and integrated view of health care—one that treats the whole person and provides the opportunity to consult and collaborate with students from other medical-related disciplines. Few other programs provide a standardized patient program, which provides simulated but authentic clinical learning experiences.
The EdS program is committed to preparing school psychologists and behavior analysts who are thoroughly prepared for service and practice in the 21st century.
With a commitment to excellence, the practitioner-based program prepares graduates who are uniquely capable and committed to providing high-quality, effective, ethical and professional school psychological services in educational and mental health settings.
The EdS degree is an innovative, applied professional psychology program designed for students with a master’s degree in school psychology or a related field who are seeking certification in the field of school psychology.
School psychologists and behavior analysts provide a full range of psychological and educational services, such as assessments and consultations with teachers and parents on various academic and systems issues. Moreover, they collaborate and form partnerships with families, educators, healthcare providers, and the community at large.
