Child Life Specialists are professionals trained to provide support to infants, children, adolescents and their families during some of the most difficult life events. Child Life Specialists are skilled in promoting effective coping through play, preparation, education and self-expression activities. They are effective problem solvers and facilitators, as they provide services in various settings such as hospitals, schools, and private practice. They have a rich perspective of today's modern healthcare system and educate caregivers, administrators and the general public about the challenges children face. They are focused on the needs of children, encourage optimal development, and empower children and their families.
