The M.Ed. degree is designed for individuals who seek positions as counselors in elementary, middle, or secondary schools. The M.A. degree is designed to meet the needs of students wishing to pursue counseling careers in mental health agencies, the criminal justice system, substance abuse facilities, religious settings, or colleges. A dual degree option in marriage and family counseling is offered in cooperation with the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, leading to the Master of Applied Human Ecology and M.A. degrees.
