Through the Master of Arts in Theology at St. John’s, students gain an in-depth understanding of the Catholic faith and its theological heritage in light of modern human experience. The 33-credit program combines coursework and research that provides a broad knowledge including of the history of the Church, the Christian tradition, Biblical scholarship and the pastoral applications of theological principles. Students may choose a thesis or non-thesis option. Students also acquire an understanding of the world’s other major religious traditions. The M.A. in Theology is ideal for students who wish to further their credentials as educators, pastoral ministers and scholarly researchers.
