The Department of Mathematics in the Weissman School of Liberal Arts and Sciences of Baruch College offers a Master of Science Program in Financial Engineering (MFE). The program can be completed in three semesters of full-time study, or five to six semesters of part-time study. All courses are offered after 6pm.
The curriculum provides the mathematical background required for modeling and solving problems that arise in the financial services industry. The program combines a rigorous treatment of the underlying mathematical concepts with a strong emphasis on computational techniques and their practical application in finance. We prepare our students to know how to solve real-world problems, and have the communication skills necessary to present their work.
As of September 2006, 84% of our graduates, and 94% of our December 2005 graduates, are working in the financial industry.
Baruch College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The curricula of the College are registered by the University of the State of New York and the New York State Department of Education as complying with the requirements for graduate degrees.
