The Master of Science in mechanical engineering degree program is designed to prepare students for significant, engineering-related careers in industry as well as for further graduate study.
Admission is open to students with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. A degree in other fields of engineering, science and mathematics may be considered as a basis for admission, but remedial coursework may be required to overcome deficiencies.
The program offers the following five options:
Solid and structural mechanics
Energy, fluid and thermal systems
General mechanical engineering.
Oakland University is accredited as a doctoral degree-granting institution by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
International Student Requirements:
International applicants requiring an I-20 for a visa must also submit additional documents, including an International Student Supplemental Application, financial documents, transcript evaluations, and proof of English language proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS or MELAB).
