The Cinema and Media Production graduate program is an advanced three-semester Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree. Our newly re-launched MFA will provide highly qualified filmmakers seeking to advance their skills opportunities to create exceptional, groundbreaking media projects that will take their professional careers to the next level.
The curriculum of this highly experiential MFA program is built upon practical workshops and intensive mentorships, and will culminate in the production of short films, television programs, or new media projects of the highest caliber. Over the course of the 12-month the program, each participant will specialize in his or her chosen discipline, but will be fully immersed in a collaborative environment dependent on cross-disciplinary teamwork.
Perhaps you have just completed your undergraduate degree in film and you need that next advanced step to seriously make your mark professionally. Or you may be a working filmmaker with many years of experience, but you’re now ready to take the next step. Either way, our newly-refreshed MFA in Cinema and Media Production is for you.
We’ll hand select a group of directors, producers, and cinematographers that will collaborate with each other, along with students in our MFA Program in Screenwriting, on six productions over the course of the year. The end product will be a professional quality media project.
Our graduate students have received numerous prestigious awards and accolades, including recognition by the Student Academy Awards, the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC), and American Cinema Editors (ACE). Four students have placed first in the ACE student editing competition, and our students’ films have screened at festivals all over the world.
