The post-baccalaureate Certificate in Gerontology provides fundamental knowledge for those to whom gerontology has not been the primary field of study. Theory and practical application are combined to provide an understanding of the aging process, issues related to older adults and the impact of aging on a variety of disciplines including the physical, mental and social aspects of life and aging. Those working in businesses or fields which are experiencing an aging demographic may find this certificate to be especially beneficial. Additionally, social workers in Pennsylvania and Maryland, and psychologists in Pennsylvania, can earn CEUs by participating in this program.
The credits from this post-baccalaureate certificate can be rolled into the M.S. in Gerontology program for those who wish to extend their studies and pursue a master's degree.
McDaniel College is accredited by Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association.
