The department has the distinction of being part of two nationally ranked colleges, the College of Engineering and the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. As such, the department provides national leadership in developing new and improved technology for food and fiber production, advanced methods for food processing and handling, and better means of managing soil, water, and other natural resources.
