Provide you with basic background information on current theories of second/foreign language acquisition and the application for the teaching of foreign languages. We will also discuss traditional and current approaches and methods of foreign language pedagogy and the directions in which our profession is currently moving. Then, we will proceed to practical applications, such as material development; instruction design in different skills (e.g., speaking, listening, reading and writing); assessment (i.e., testing); and application of technologies (computer, Internet), all based on teacher content standards. The program will give you ample opportunities to practice lesson planning in your foreign language.
