The MFA degree is the recognized terminal degree in the studio arts. The MFA program is designed to refine the visual art skills of the graduate student in a particular area or areas of concentration by providing the instruction, facilities and time for the student both to develop a significant body of studio work and to expand his or her intellectual horizons in preparation for a rewarding professional career.

International Student Requirements:
International students (whose native language is not English) must achieve satisfactory scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
(1) TOEFL Exam: Total score of 80 with a score of at least 20 on each section
(2) IELTS Exam: 6.5 or higher on the overall band
(3) Level 112 from ELS Language Centers also meets the English language proficiency requirements. Students must contact the Graduate School at firstname.lastname@example.org before applying for ELS conditional admission in order to verify that the program of interest offers conditional admission.
