The Doctor of Chiropractic Degree (DC) can be earned in as little as 10 trimesters. Attending year round, you can complete the program in three years and four months. The 248-credit-hour program is divided into three phases: Basic Sciences, Clinical Sciences, and Clinical Practice. You will be exposed from the beginning of your education to unique hands-on learning opportunities including an entire year working in the gross anatomy laboratory on full dissection of a human cadaver (rather than prosection or virtual dissection). The chiropractic program emphasizes broad-scope, science-based teachings through Evaluation and Management courses. This coursework combines technique and diagnosis training, teaching you to think like a doctor so that you learn not only how to adjust but when to adjust. You'll also start practicing chiropractic adjustments as well as medical treatment and diagnostic skills earlier than other programs — in your second trimester. During your clinical science studies, you will work in the Training and Assessment Center on simulated patients and have the opportunity to intern in a wide variety of settings prior to graduation. This early hands-on training gives you a higher confidence and skill level when you reach your clinical internship phase.
