California Lutheran University's Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology emphasizes both the development of research and counseling skills. A high concentration is on practical skills in the areas of interviewing, group therapy and applied behavior analysis. Students gain an understanding of psychological disorders and methods of treating those disorders, and they are exposed to psychological testing and developing treatment plans. Students have the option to focus on child and adolescent therapy or psychiatric rehabilitation.
The curriculum is designed for students who plan to continue their graduate studies in a doctoral program or to advance in their careers. Classes are taught in the evenings and occasionally on Saturdays, at our main campus in Thousand Oaks.
