Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology
California Lutheran University's APA-Accredited Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) is designed to develop students' clinical skills through the integration of practice and research. You will be prepared for a fulfilling career as a licensed doctoral-level clinical psychologist in settings such as medical centers, universities, prisons or community counseling centers. The Psy.D. curriculum integrates diagnostics, assessment and intervention by organizing courses around major diagnostic categories. The curriculum is based on the new professional standards of competency education developed by the American Psychological Association. During this 5-year, full-time program, Cal Lutheran students can complete the practicum component of their degree at one of the University's two state-of-the-art Community Counseling Centers in Oxnard and Westlake. This not only offers students the convenience of an in-house practicum, but it also provides excellent, supervised hands-on training in a clinical setting. Classes are offered on-site at our graduate center in Oxnard.
