Master of Arts in Anthropology with a concentration in Museum Studies, Certificate in Museum Studies
Established in 1978 and substantially revised in 2002, the degree program is designed to involve students with the principles, practices, and critical analyses f museums. Broad-based, the program provides opportunities for coursework and practical experiences in curation, exhibition planning and design, educational programming, conservation principles, and administration. The program also encourages graduate studients from other disciplines -- history, art history, natural sciences -- to gain experience in museums through the certificate program. Faculty support students seeking PhD's emphasizing museum-related research, including critical analyses of public programs as well as collections research.
