Environmental issues are a major concern today. This course is designed to enable you to increase your knowledge and understanding of the management of conservation in the rural environment, with particularreference to coastal, freshwater, forest and farming habitats. The course also includes environmental auditing and impact assessment, environmental modelling (including statistics) and chemical environmental analysis, in addition to relevant aspects of law, economics and philosophy. A particular feature of this course is that the projects in the final semester are proposed by environmental agencies to investigate the real problems that are of genuine concern to them. This involvement has led to job offers for past students. Students should seek funding support from their TEC. Other sources of funding include career development loans.
