The MSc in Financial Management is a broadly based and comprehensive programme for graduates who wish to pursue careers in banking, consultancy, investment management, corporate finance or accounting.
Financial Management is one of the key disciplines necessary for the successful management of business corporations and other organisations.
Studying the theories underlying Financial Management practices allows students to understand and explain the financial behaviours of corporations and other organisations. An understanding of the practices of Financial Management equips students with the knowledge and understanding necessary to apply this knowledge to real-life business situations.
The programme emphasises both the internal and external operations of the firm. During the programme students will put themselves in the position of corporate managers formulating strategy, evaluating investment projects and making financing decisions. In addition students will study the process of evaluating a firm from an outside perspective whether that be from an investment analyst viewpoint or a consulting perspective.
Graduates bringing financial management knowledge enjoy opportunities across a variety of sectors from corporates to government. Roles include: Equity Analyst, Risk Management Analyst, Corporate Finance Executive, Retail Banking Associate, Commercial Banker, Investment Banking Associate, Business Analyst, Strategy Consultant, Auditor and Business Finance Executive.
Leading employers highly regard our MSc, and graduates have secured positions with firms including: ABN AMRO, BearingPoint, DNB, Nordea, HSBC, General Electric, PWC, Baillie Gifford, Danske Bank, the Neilsen Corporation, PA Consulting, Russell Investments, UBS.
