For employer-sponsored students seeking to train as Approved Mental Health Professionals (AHMP).
The course considers the AHMP role in relation to:
• Values and Ethics
• Law, Policies and Procedures
Additionally it thoroughly grounds students in the following key areas of knowledge, competence and risk:
• Mental distress/’mental health difficulties’: models for practice
• Partnerships in mental health practice
• Risk: evidence-based decision-making and communication
It considers mental health issues from both a diagnostic and social perspective. These modules, along with the 60 day practice will allow students to be recognised by Local Authorities as Approved Mental Health Professionals.
