The aim of this course is to develop a range of aesthetic, technical, conceptual and commercial skills underpinned by a critical under-standing of contemporary photographic practice. The course provides a tutorial and workshop framework for the development of a major project and other practical assignments, within the context of taught programme in photographic theory and criticism. The aims of this course are to develop the skills of scholarly practice in the history, theory and criticism of photography. The course combines an emphasis on research with a taught programme which considers the philosophical, institutional, social, cultural and commercial dimension of the subject discipline.
