The Department of Pharmacy at the National University of Singapore is one of the oldest pharmacy schools in the region. The department is very well equipped for research work in a wide range of fundamental and applied topics, leading to degrees of Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) by theses. Graduate research programme is pursued in the areas of drug delivery, pharmaceutical technology, medicinal chemistry and drug design, pharmaceutical analysis of Chinese propriety medicines, pharmacoeconomics, outcomes research and pharmacokinetics of drugs with narrow therapeutic ranges.
The Department also offers a part-time Master in Pharmacy (Clinical Pharmacy) course by examination, which is designed to enhance the knowledge base, competency and practice skills of pharmacists involved in the delivery of patient-oriented services. The programme may be undertaken over a period of four to eight university semesters and will comprise of course work (four modules), a written report based on project work and a 20-week full-time clinical clerkship.
