The Financial Economics program is both academically rigorous and applied. Its curriculum is a unique blend of the core courses in Micro- and Macroeconomics, Econometrics, Asset pricing and Corporate finance, and applied courses in various fields of Economics and Finance. Programme graduates start their careers as professional economists or analysts at financial institutions (including Sberbank, the Central Bank of Russia, HSBC, UBS), non-financial companies (Sibur, Renault) or continue their studies at the doctoral level in top universities (such as LSE).
Program graduates receive an HSE diploma and an official letter of validation from the London School of Economics and Political Science, which approves the Program's correspondence to international educational standards.
Most program graduates choose a career in the financial sector. Our students receive job offers from the top financial institutions in Russia and abroad, including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, HSBC, UBS, Credit Suisse, Barclays, Citigroup, Sberbank CIB (Troika Dialog), VTB Capital, Central Bank of Russia, VTB24, International Finance Corporation, etc. Some graduates work in the real sector (Lukoil, Megafon), strategic consultancies (McKinsey, Olivier Wyman), or continue their education at the best PhD programs in economics or finance (LSE, University of Minnesota, Bocconi, Toulouse School of Economics, St.-Gallen).
Employment is possible only in the last term (second semester of the second year).
