The Al-Karim Educational Foundation (A.K.E.F.) was established by visionary business leaders and dedicated citizens in 1988 and registered as a non-profit organization under the Societies Act of 1860 with the aim of filling the gap in professional and specialized education in Management and the Physical Sciences. As a first step in this direction the Pak-American Institute of Management Sciences was setup in 1987, to give programs in B.B.A. (Hons.), M.B.A, and a Bachelor in Computer Science. Pak-AIMS, which began quite modestly, today has a registration of over 750 students, a very highly qualified faculty, and modern fully equipped computer labs and library.
