Biomedical Communications is offered through the Institute of Medical Science (IMS). The program offers an interdisciplinary graduate program in medical illustration that bridges the disciplines of art, science, medicine and communication. Design and communication theory combined with scientific knowledge inform the production of visual material for health promotion, medical education, and the process of scientific discovery. Theories of human-computer interaction and visualization as well as content organization and audience analysis all play important roles in the creation and evaluation of original material. This program prepares students for careers in health science centers academia or research, industry, education, or as private consultants.
