The aim of the programme is to train students in a range of multivariate techniques of analysis which are used nowadays all over the world in quantitative scientific research in the social sciences. The training will allow students to participate in research projects where such techniques of analysis are used. The master programme also aims at familiarizing students with advanced computer programmes such as LEM, LISREL, ALSCAL and others, and with sophisticated applications of statistical software such as SAS, STATA and SPSS. Not the mathematical argumentation is of primary importance, but rather a thorough understanding of the premises, the applicability and the results of the techniques in question. The student should be able to apply the studied techniques within the framework of quantitative social science and marketing research.
