Definitions to Help Interpret Statistics:
Hits: A "Hit" in our reports, is counted each time a user clicks on a link from our site to your site. Therefore, a user must click through to your site for it to count as a hit.

* Visits: A "Visit" is similar to a hit in that it is counted when a user clicks through to your site from Gradschools.com. However, a visit doesn't count click-throughs that occur within half an hour of each other from the same user (i.e., if someone double clicks a link or returns to our site and clicks through to yours again within 30 minutes it will count as two hits but only one visit).

Unique Hosts: "Unique Hosts" records the number of individual hosts (computer system, PC, router server, etc.) that have clicked through from the Gradschools.com site to your site. Keep in mind that many people use proxy servers, or ISP's and therefore do not have their own computer addresses.

Pages: Because Gradschools.com is tracking click-throughs to your site and not page views, this variable will always be zero or blank in on your reports.

Current Hits: "Current Hits" is a record of the number of hits that has occurred during the current period. This period is typically a week long and is defined on the top of each of the report pages.

% of Current Hits: This column appears in some of the reports. It is the percentage of the total click-throughs that were generated from a specific URL. For example, in the "Referrers" report, it is the percentage of the total number of click-throughs received in the Current Period that came from each URL on Gradschools.com where there is a link for your school.
