Academic Life Students at Harvard Divinity School enjoy the extraordinary academic resources of the Divinity School, as well as those of the wider University. The Harvard library system has more than 90 libraries, including HDS's Andover-Harvard Theological Library. In addition to taking courses at HDS, students may cross-register at other Harvard Schools or at any of the schools that make up the Boston Theological Institute. Programs of Study Harvard Divinity School offers four degree programs and several non-degree programs. The degree programs are: The master of divinity (MDiv): A three-year program primarily for those preparing for ministry. The master of theological studies (MTS): A two-year program for those beginning careers as scholars and educators in religion, or combining religion with other fields such as journalism, law, or medicine.
