The Master of Science in Nursing program prepares nurses for roles in advanced practice nursing or nursing administration. The post-master's program prepares the nurse who already has an M.S. in nursing to become academically eligible for certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse. Doctoral education in nursing is built on the Masters level nursing foundation. It is characterized by the acquisition of research skills necessary for the discovery and use of new nursing knowledge and for preparation for teaching roles.
