M.S. - Marriage and Family Therapy

Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs) are uniquely trained to use psychotherapy and psych-education to help people improve their ability to relate to others. Clinically, an individual’s symptoms are understood and treated in the context of these important relationships. Wile MFTs work in the same settings as other therapists, they are the best trained to help people make informed relationship decisions that promote emotional /psychological adjustment in themselves and others. Program curriculum meets licensing criteria in most states (including Wisconsin and Minnesota), prepares students for membership in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and adheres to the rigorous standards for training set by the Commission on Accreditation of Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE).
