Three concentrations augment the research and class core: Food Science and Technology, Human Nutritional Science and Food Packaging, Students planning to become registered Dietitians may enroll in a Dietetic Internship accredited by the Commission on Accreditation/Approval for Dietetics Education.     Accreditation Information: The Graduate School at UW-Stout is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools (NCA) to offer programs at the master's and education specialist levels. Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education.  # Of Credits Required: 50  Time To Degree: 2+ years    Previous Degrees BS/BA degree from an accredited institution, and an overall grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0. Applicants with a GPA ranging from 2.5-3.0 may be admitted on a probational basis. Admission may be on a provisional basis for applicants without necessary coursework. Upon satisfactory completion of the deficient course work, a provisionally admitted student will be fully admitted to the Graduate School.  Pre-Requisite Courses Three pre-requisite requirements are as follows: Foods/Food Science, General Microbiology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry with lab, Biochemistry, Statistics, Nutrition, Advanced Nutrition, Advanced Foods or Experimental Foods (courses can be taken here).  International Student Requirements Admission requirements include: (1) Admission to a graduate degree program and the Graduate School; (2) English proficiency TOEFL score of at least 173 computer-based and 500 paper-based or 213 computer-based, 550 paper-based depending on which program is chosen, and 61 Internet-based. Test scores should be sent directly to UW-Stout (school code #1740); (3) Official copies of all post-secondary transcripts (translated into English), including proof of baccalaureate and/or highest earned degree; (4) Undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale; (5) specific program requirements.
