The primary areas of emphasis are leadership development, organizational studies, economics and finance, clinical evaluation and quality management, and policy analysis. Health administration is a career in which health care is directly affected on an organizational and system-wide basis. MHA graduates hold leadership roles in hospitals, physician groups, practices, nursing homes, outpatient care centers and home health agencies. Positions are also available with insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, consulting firms and, increasingly, health policy positions within government. The University of Washington Master of Health Administration (MHA) Program recognizes the dynamic nature of the health management field as well as the changing nature of societal expectations for health care.
