The Master of Science in Law (MSL) degree at Woodbury College helps non-lawyers gain legal knowledge to increase their effectiveness and advance their careers. In a business and professional climate highly regulated and rich in legal dimensions, the law is so important that everyone should understand it. Woodbury’s MSL degree helps professionals develop the skills to work confidently with the law and lawyers, and prevent needless litigation. The MSL also has special value for foreign attorneys and foreign business executives who wish to understand the American legal system and work with it effectively, and for paralegals seeking advanced training along with an advanced degree. The Intellectual Property Law concentration examines the protection of technology through the federal patent system and the state law of trade secrets. Students will also explore the types of subject matter eligible for copyright protection and the scope of copyright infringement. Additionally, students will learn about protectable trademarks, the trademark registration process, and infringement standards.

Accreditation Information: Woodbury College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Commission on Institutions of Higher Education.
